The Toffees head into this weekend’s clash at Brunton Park on the back of the crushing Capital One Cup semi-final aggregate defeat by Manchester City on Wednesday night.
That result meant they missed out on the chance to meet Merseyside rivals Liverpool in the Wembley final.
Arouna Kone starts up front for the visitors ahead of Ross Barkley while Aaron Lennon and Steven Pienaar populate the flanks.
James McCarthy and Tom Cleverely sit in the centre of midfield while Joel Robles remains in goal after appearing in midweek.
The hosts, meanwhile, call upon 34-year-old striker Derek Asamoah to lead the line while Newcastle United loanee Macaulay Gillesphey also features from the start.
Mark Gillespie, who had a loan spell with Blyth Spartans in 2010/11 and has since cemented his spot with the League Two outfit, starts in goal for Carlisle and is tasked with keeping Kone and Barkley at bay.
Kick-off at Brunton Park is at 1.30pm.
