Greater Manchester Police confirmed to The Independent that five people have been arrested in connection with the incident, and earlier confirmed that three Polish football fans were arrested.
A man was also treated for a head injury.
The brawl took place outside Sinclair's Oyster bar in Shambles Square, with police being called at around 3.30pm to deal with the incident.
Two groups of men were seen throwing chairs, tables, bikes and other objects at each other.

It is so far unclear what sparked the violence and which set of supporters were involved, although there has been a suggestion in the Spanish media that fans of Polish club Slask Vroclaw incited the trouble - there was trouble when Slask and Sevilla met in the Europa League in 2013.
An employee of the Old Wellington pub in Shambles Square told The Independent: “Seville fans were here this afternoon and they did not do anything. Random people all masked up turned up and smashed the place up.
"It wasn’t Seville fans, it was somebody who had a problem with them.”
