Uefa Cup previews: Dawson up the creek as Spurs look to Wembley

Michael Dawson's hamstring injury rules him out of Tottenham's game against Slavia Prague at White Hart Lane tonight, but the defender may return for the Carling Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday. Dawson picked up the injury in the 3-0 victory at Derby earlier this month. Ledley King (knee) has trained this week but may not be risked, while Alan Hutton is ineligible. Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee), Gareth Bale (foot), Gilberto (calf) and Kevin-Prince Boateng (hamstring) are out. Spurs lead the tie 2-1 from the first leg.

Cousin travels with Rangers as Fifa delays its decision

Rangers have no fresh injury worries and plenty of attacking options for tonight's second leg against Panathinaikos. Striker Jean-Claude Darcheville is suspended and defender Steven Whittaker remains out with a hamstring injury. Striker Daniel Cousin travelled with the squad and could feature, while his move to Fulham awaits Fifa approval, however manager Walter Smith may prefer Kris Boyd or Lee McCulloch. Thomas Buffel and Alan Gow provide back-up.

Moyes warns squad: 'There is no room for any mistakes'

David Moyes, the Everton manager, has virtually a fully-fit squad for only the second time this season for the game against Norwegian champions SK Brann. His only injury is the on-loan defender Anthony Gardner. Midfielder Mikel Arteta (below), who missed the 2-0 first-leg win with a groin problem, returns, while Thomas Gravesen is also available after a knee injury. Steven Pienaar, who missed the Norway trip, has recovered from an ankle injury. "We are in a good position, but will be making sure we don't make any mistakes," Moyes said.

Aguero ban adds to Atletico's dilemmas

Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero has been handed a two-match ban by Uefa. Aguero was shown a red card in last week's Uefa Cup last-32 first leg against Bolton for spitting after reacting badly to a challenge from Matt Taylor. Atletico appealed against the decision, believing Aguero was spitting at the floor and not in the direction of an opponent, but the 19-year-old was suspended for two matches. Aguero will miss tonight's second leg at the Vicente Calderon, where Atletico need to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first match if they are to progress. Their cause will not be helped by the absences of key players such as Raul Garcia, who is also suspended, and Leo Franco, Georgios Seitaridis, Juan Valera, Ze Castro, Thiago Motta and Simao Sabrosa through injury.

Dons aim for 'dream' win

Dave Bus is Aberdeen's only new injury victim ahead of tonight's second leg at Bayern Munich. The Dutch defender, who joined the club in the transfer window, is likely to be replaced by Andrew Considine, while Darren Mackie is set to return in attack after missing Sunday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League defeat at Hibernian. Richie Byrne and Jamie Smith (both hamstring) are still out, as are Jackie McNamara and Derek Young. "If we got a result it would be historic," said the Aberdeen manager, Jimmy Calderwood. "We have to win the game or get a high-scoring draw, but we can dream." The first leg finished 2-2 at Pittodrie.
