From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Son Heung-Min: With Harry Kane out of action against Fiorentina, it is a chance for Son to prove that Spurs aren’t solely reliant on the England striker. Kane has netted 19 goals to Son’s five this season, and with the pair level with two goals apiece in the Europa League, the South Korean has the chance to exceed the 22-year-old’s tally. It’s an opportunity for Son to make the headlines and guide Spurs one step closer to the final.

Player to watch…
Erik Lamela: Tottenham have never beaten Fiorentina and there is no better man to end that record than the Argentine. With five goals in the Europa League so far this campaign, the 23-year-old is Spurs’ top scorer in the competition and boasts experience of their Italian opposition, from his time with AS Roma in Serie A. A vital cog in Spurs’ quests for domestic and international glory, the winger could be the difference in seeing Mauricio Pocchetino’s men through to the last 16.
