Your support makes all the difference.Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has tested positive for coronavirus ahead of his side’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Liverpool.
The 35-year-old will now spend the next 10 days in self-isolation, ruling him out of Madrid’s fixtures against Liverpool, Getafe and Cadiz.
Ramos missed the first leg of the Champions League tie, which Madrid won 3-1, due to a calf injury and was already expected to miss out again, having not yet completed a period of rehabilitation.
“If there is something that hurts me, it is not being able to help the team in these highly demanding matches,” he said after suffering the injury on international duty with Spain.
Ramos, who joined Real Madrid in 2005 and has made 670 appearances for the club, winning five La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies, will be a free agent at the end of the season if he fails to agree terms on a new contract with president Florentino Perez.
