From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Seville coach Unai Emery congratulated Alberto Moreno ahead of the Spanish left-back's £12million move to Liverpool.

Moreno was at the Cardiff City Stadium, but did not play, and was in tears as he was embraced on the pitch by his team-mates after the game, soon before Liverpool confirmed they had reached a deal.

“I congratulate the players how have decide to take a further step, but I am not going to think about them again,” Emery said.

“We will remember players like Alberto Moreno. It is true that it was in our minds but this has been in the offing for around a month and a half or two.

“There are teams interested in him and this has speeded it all up. We want to wish him the best.”
