Real Madrid travel to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Bundesliga side held Inter Milan to a 2-2 draw in the first group game at the Giuseppe Meazza and have gone four unbeaten in league play too.

By contrast, Zinedine Zidane’s side suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk last time out in Europe and are bottom of the group.

They did, however, beat Barcelona in El Clasico at the weekend, so positivity should be restored in the squad.

When is the match?

The match is on Tuesday, 27 October at Borussia Park in Monchengladbach, with kick-off set for 20:00.

What is the team news?

Denis Zakaria is closing in on a comeback but is still slowly building up his training load after a long-term knee injury. Laszlo Benes is also out and Valentino Lazaro is a doubt. 'Gladbach are also without Andreas Poulsen, but Mamadou Doucoure will have a late fitness test.

Real have welcomed back Eden Hazard into their squad, though he is only likely to start on the bench. At right-back, each of Nacho, Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola are injured so Lucas Vazquez will likely start. Martin Odegaard is the other notable absentee for Los Blancos.
