Your support makes all the difference.This summer's managerial merry-go-round threatened to spark into life today after Paris St German revealed that Real Madrid have made an approach for their manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Club president Nasser al Khelaifi explained that the Spanish side had initiated talks, yet the newly crowned Ligue 1 champions have no desire to see the Italian coach depart.
"They (Real) came and I discussed it with them," club president Nasser al Khelaifi is quoted as telling Reuters. "He's got a contract with us for one more year...for me, he's here next year."
Ancelotti, who has one year to run on his contract, has been coy over his future, refusing to categorically deny stories he is set to leave. Al Khelaifi is confident he will stay.
"He's a fantastic guy and I'm sure he'll respect his contract," said the club's president.
"Today I don't have any plan to meet him because he has a contract. Now it's time to celebrate and to enjoy the moment."
The approach from Real Madrid represents the most categorical evidence yet that Jose Mourinho will be leaving the Bernabeu this summer.
For months it's been expected that 'the Special One' will move on but the Portuguese has not actually confirmed this is the case, instead insisting he would wait until the end of the season before discussing his future. That Real are actively seeking a replacement would appear to suggest a final decision has already been made.
Mourinho is expected to return to Chelsea, where he will replace Rafael Benitez. The interim-manager, who is preparing the Blues for a Europa League final this week, is certain to leave Stamford Bridge. The former Liverpool boss has expressed his desire to work in England, but is open to other options. Should Ancelotti leave for Real Madrid, there will be a vacancy at PSG and Benitez is sure to be linked with that position.
At Manchester City, there are also expected to be changes, with Manuel Pellegrini being lined up to replace Roberto Mancini, who in turn may go to France, but with Monaco.
There has also been the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson who has been replaced at Manchester United by David Moyes. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola is set to take up the Bayern Munich hotseat in a summer that will see one of the biggest shake-ups among Europe's elite teams in memory.
