Paris St Germain have terminated Mohamed Sissoko's contract by mutual consent.

The 28-year-old former Valencia, Liverpool and Juventus midfielder has dropped down Laurent Blanc's pecking order at the Parc des Princes and was loaned out to Serie A side Fiorentina last season.

Sissoko made 28 appearances for PSG since his 7million euros move from Juventus in July 2011 and had been reportedly linked with Sky Bet Championship side Reading before he was out of contract.

PSG confirmed on their official website http://www.psg.fr: "Paris Saint-Germain and Mohamed Sissoko have agreed to terminate the player's contract with the capital club.

"The player is now out of contract and free to sign with another European club."
