Chelsea and Paris St Germain have been involved in a friendly exchange on Twitter ahead of their Champions League quarter-final first leg at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
The tie is set to be a hotly contested one, with both sides capable of reaching the semi-finals. While Chelsea can draw on their recent pedigree in Europe – the 2012 Champions League success followed by last season’s Europa League triumph – but rapidly emerging PSG have shown no signs in letting up on their quest to become a European powerhouse.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jose Mourinho set to let their egos collide, expect a seismic collision that could quickly explode into fireworks. Both ooze confidence on and off the pitch – with Mourinho occasionally transgressing on to the field of play – but it seems some of that has leaked to both clubs’ social media teams.
The pair exchanged a light-hearted series of tweets bigging-up their own club, but whoever triumphs over the two-legged affair will inevitably have the last laugh.
