From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Milan will take another step towards a 17th Italian title if they defeat Chievo at San Siro tomorrow. Carlo Ancelotti's side are 10 points clear of Roma in the Serie A table with eight matches left, mainly thanks to Andriy Shevchenko, whose 19 goals in 25 games have brought comparison with Marco van Basten, arguably Milan's greatest striker.

Roma attempt to maintain their pursuit against Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico. One point further back are Juventus, who will be glad to host a Modena side in disarray after sacking their coach Alberto Malesani.

With nine games remaining in Spain, Real Madrid's apparent stroll to the title has turned into a three-horse race with Valencia and Barcelona. Last Saturday's 4-2 defeat in Bilbao meant Madrid have taken only two points from three games, while Valencia and Barca have won three in a row. Madrid are home to Sevilla tomorrow knowing anything less than victory looks sure to hand the top spot to Valencia, a point behind and facing Racing Santander away.

In the Bundesliga the leaders, Werder Bremen, who have an 11-point lead over Bayern Munich, visit third-placed Stuttgart tomorrow. Bayern face Borussia Mönchengladbach at home.

Lyon face a tough task away to Nice if they are to keep a share of the French League leadership in France tonight. While Monaco, second on goal difference, visit struggling Le Mans.
