Your support makes all the difference.Lionel Messi’s penalty pass to his team-mate Luis Suarez took the headlines as calls of “brilliant”, “astonishing” and even “disrespectful” arose over his decision to reject an easy chance to score when Barcelona were 3-1 up against Celta Vigo, but one act of sheer showboating went largely under the radar just minutes before.
While Messi and Suarez took centre stage late in the 6-1 victory, it was yet another rainbow flick from their highly-talented Brazilian team-mate Neymar that perhaps had the biggest cause for Celta players to be unhappy with.
Messi’s penalty, which was eventually finished by Suarez, was defended by Celta manager Eduardo Berizzo as “very respectful”, while Barcelona manager Luis Enrique added: "In this country, kicking someone is more accepted than flicks and tricks.”
However, as is the way of playground football right through to the professional ranks, sometimes players can let their frustrations boil over when a member of the opposition gets the better of you in rather humiliating circumstances.
Neymar has found this out before, with the Brazil international being hacked to the ground after he performed a similar rainbow flick in the win over Athletic Bilbao last season, but that hasn’t put him off pulling it out of his extensive bag of tricks once again.

This time though, Neymar was able to continue his run after looping the ball over the head of Celta forward Josep Sene, and minutes later the Messi penalty incident quickly took the attention off his 24-year-old team-mate.
