The duo have spearheaded the attack at the Parisian side over the past few seasons, winning multiple domestic titles and reaching the Champions League final last season.
PSG haven't yet hit the heights this season, amid injury absences for several key players and a change of manager to replace Thomas Tuchel with Mauricio Pochettino, but Mbappe says tying Neymar down to a long-term deal is vital to future successes.

“This is great news. Everyone knows the importance of this player," the young French forward told Canal+.
"I hope he will be able to write the history of this club for many years to come."
While the Brazilian may be close to a renewal, the same has not been reported to be true of Mbappe himself.
Neymar has encouraged his younger team-mate to follow suit and Pochettino has stated his conviction that the France international is committed to the cause, but Mbappe has just over a year left on his current deal.
The pair have combined for 31 goals this season across all competitions, the latest of which came on Sunday night when Mbappe hit the opener in the 2-0 win over Marseille in Le Classique.
Despite the win, PSG sit third in Ligue 1, one point behind Lyon and three off leaders Lille.
Last years's finalists face Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16, with the first leg taking place at the Camp Nou on 16 February.
