Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Inter Milan striker Diego Milito admits he hopes Jose Mourinho will remain in charge at the club next season.
Mourinho's contract with Inter runs until June 2012, but the Portuguese coach has been strongly linked with Real Madrid.
"We hope he will remain with us," said Milito. "He is very important to us."
Mourinho stated earlier this week that he will only make a decision regarding his future after Saturday's Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
The Nerazzurri travel to Madrid tomorrow knowing that they are on the cusp of history, with the Italian giants within touching distance of a magnificent treble.
"We have to think of how we are going to approach Bayern," said Milito. "Up to now, we have not been able to talk among us about this because we have had so many important games.
"From tomorrow, we will start to organise ourselves.
"Bayern has a very good team, with great players."
Milito, who scored the winning goals that handed Inter the Coppa Italia last month and the scudetto on Sunday, is the team's leading scorer in the Champions League having found the back of the net four times.
