Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Milan go into tomorrow's derby with Internazionale at San Siro looking to wipe out Juventus's lead at the top of Serie A after closing the gap to one point in midweek.

Juve only drew with Lecce on Wednesday thanks to goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon's late error and travel to Cagliari knowing that the Rossoneri are hot on their heels.

Buffon has been publically forgiven by his team-mates and Milan, who will be without injured Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, are sure to face a tough game against Andrea Stramaccioni's side, even though Inter's chances of qualifying for the Champions League are slim.

In Spain, Pep Guardiola has his last home game as Barcelona coach when local rivals Espanyol visit the Nou Camp tonight. "I don't like farewells, but I have been a person in the public eye," Guardiola said. "I hope the people react as they always do, in a natural way. Meanwhile Malaga, in fourth, visit fifth-placed Atletico Madrid for a game that will go a long way to decide the final Champions League place.
