Your support makes all the difference.Mario Balotelli was booked while playing for Nice on Saturday night for complaining to the referee about alleged racial abuse being chanted at him from the crowd.
The former Manchester City and Liverpool forward was the subject of unsavoury chanting when he missed a shot on goal in the 72nd minute as Nice lost to Dijon 3-2.
Balotelli went straight to the referee Nicolas Rainville to complain after gesturing to Dijon fans to be quiet but was just shown a yellow card.
Nice’s official Twitter account said of the incident: “In the meantime, Mario Balotelli has inherited a yellow card… after getting annoyed with racist insults from the public”.
Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere complained about the officiating after the game but failed to mention the incident concerning Balotelli and was instead angry with the penalty decision given against his side which saw Kwon Chang-hoon score a late winner.
