Robin van Persie's doctor thought ex-Arsenal and Manchester United striker was a 'Sunday league player'
Dr. Mesut Ozen added insult to the Dutchman's injury by mistaking him an amateur footballer

The former Premier League winner was involved in a collision with Akhisar Belediyespor's Abdulwahid Sissoko after scoring in Fenerbahce’s 3-1 victory over their Super Lig rivals.
The Dutchman, however, came off far worse in the incident and was left with a wound on his left eye which required immediate attention.
The former Manchester United and Arsenal star was then taken to a nearby hospital and treated by Dr Mehmet Ozen, who was completely unaware of who Van Persie was.
“I am not interested in football at all,” Ozen told Fanatik. “I do not follow it at all. I thought Robin van Persie was an ordinary Sunday league player.
“When I saw the crowd around the hospital I figured he was someone famous. I treated him like everybody else coming to the hospital.
“He was really cooperative when I examined him, very humble and helpful. I did not take a selfie with him.
“I only took his photo to show his eye to the plastic surgeon. I didn’t know he was such a famous person.
“I learnt it was him from the news and headline the day after.”
Thanks to Ozen there was no serious damage to Van Persie’s actual eye but the striker did tear his eyelid during the collision.
The Fenerbahce forward tweeted the club’s fans soon after to reassure them that no serious damage had been done.
The 33-year-old has endeared himself to the Fenerbahce faithful since arriving in Turkey from Manchester United in 2015.
Van Persie has also scored five goals this season, one of which came against his old club in a 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford in the Europa League last month.
