Luke Shaw and Axel Tuanzebe have been left out of Manchester United’s Europa League ahead of the last-16 second leg with LASK Linz.

Both Shaw and Tuanzebe are set to miss the remainder of the 2019-20 season through injury and were not expected to feature at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Youngsters Teden Mengi and Ethan Laird replace the injured pair in United’s 30-man squad after taking part in first-team training over the past month.

Mengi is a highly-rated centre-half and United’s Under-18s captain, while right-back Laird has already featured twice in the Europa League against Astana and Club Brugge.

Phil Jones retains his place in the squad despite not turning out for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side since the 6-0 FA Cup win over Tranmere Rovers in January.

Solskjaer is expected to name a heavily rotated line-up against LASK, with United leading 5-0 on aggregate from the first leg played in March.
