Manchester United came up short against Barcelona, losing 1-0 in their Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Barcelona opened the scoring with a well-worked goal after Lionel Messi fed Luis Suarez in the box.

Suarez needed a little fortune with a deflection off Luke Shaw, and after consulting VAR the referee eventually awarded the goal.

From there United seemed to settle into the game and did well to disrupt their visitors, but couldn't get a crucial goal to pull level.

Messi had a relatively quiet game, but his team did enough and will take a lead back to the Nou Camp.
