Ilkay Gundogan will make his full Manchester City debut in the club's rearranged Champions League group stage clash with Borussia Monchengladbach.

The midfielder, who joined in a £22.95m deal from Borussia Dortmund this summer, replaces David Silva in the starting line-up, who is rested as a precautionary measure.

Pep Guardiola has otherwise made no changes to the line-up which was set to play before the postponement of Tuesday night's game.

Adverse weather conditions hit Manchester, with torrential rain falling across the city, causing disruption to transport networks and stoking public safety fears.

City's announcement that the fixture would be delayed and rearranged 20 minutes before kick-off was greeted with boos from the travelling Monchengladbach contingent.

Only around 30 per cent of the German fans present on Tuesday night are expected to attend Wednesday's match.
