Manchester United have added young goalkeeper Ondrej Mastny to their Champions League squad ahead of their opening Group H trip to Paris Saint-Germain.

Mastny is the most eye-catching name among the four homegrown players aged under 21 to be added to United's 'B list' squad, with Mason Greenwood, Brandon Williams and Teden Mengi also included.

Mastny's promotion to the Champions League squad follows the omission of experienced goalkeeper Sergio Romero from United's 'A list' squad.

Romero is out of favour at Old Trafford after Dean Henderson's return from a loan spell at Sheffield United this summer.

The Argentina international hoped to leave United before the close of the transfer window but stayed put despite interest from Everton and Aston Villa.

Romero is not currently training with Solskjaer's first-team squad at Carrington. His wife, Eliana Guerico, publicly criticised United's treatment of her husband earlier this month.

Mastny is a Czech Republic Under-16 international who joined United from Jihlava in 2018 and has made four appearances for Neil Wood's Under-23s this season.

The 18-year-old joins Henderson, David de Gea and veteran Lee Grant as Solskjaer’s goalkeepers for the Champions League group stages.

Greenwood is not expected to feature at the Parc des Princes after missing Saturday’s 4-1 win away to Newcastle United through fitness issues but Williams and Mengi are available for selection.
