Former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski is known for his light-heartedness and his good humour, but the World Cup winner has been involved in a rather angry confrontation after appearing to kick out at a photographer.

The Galatasaray forward scored the opener in their 3-0 victory over Bursaspor last Friday, giving the Germany international his seventh goal in 14 matches after adapting quickly to his new surroundings in Turkey.

However, Poldolski’s night would end in controversy after he became involved in a dispute with a photographer outside an Istanbul restaurant, according to German newspaper Bild. A picture appears to show the 30-year-old footballer lashing out at the cameraman.

Podolski is reported to have gone out for dinner with his wife, Monika, and their son, Louis, when paparazzi tried to snap them as they left the restaurant.

Despite Podolski being pictured kicking out at the photographer with his left foot, he is not expected to face any action by either Galatasaray or the Turkish FA.
