Luis Suarez arrived in Barcelona ahead of officially announcing his blockbuster move to the Catalan giants.

The 27-year-old landed in Catalunya in the early hours with his wife, Sofia, and daughter.

Fifa last week announced that while Suarez will be allowed to complete a medical at the Nou Camp, he will not be unveiled with the usual fanfare Barcelona signings receive under the terms of his four-month ban.

Last summer around 90,000 people packed inside the stadium to see Neymar arrive at the club.

Barcelona could still unveil the former Liverpool striker in front of their fans and are investigating other venues to hold the event.

Suarez will not be allowed to train either, and after Fifa rejected his appeal, he may go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to lodge another.

However, that comes with risks. Suarez can ask the CAS to put his ban on hold but will could then miss more matches during the season, rather than in the close season, should they uphold the ruling.
