Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Lionel Messi is currently in London and has been spending a huge amount of time with best bud Cesc Fabregas.
The former team-mates were last night pictured leaving an exclusive Mayfair casino and continued their bonding session today at west London department store Harrods.
The two players, who grew close during their time at Barcelona, were joined by another former Barca star Deco, who also played for Fabregas' current club Chelsea, and eat at a pizzeria.
Messi, Fabregas and Deco were pictured eating at a restaurant inside the famous store in Knightsbridge, that was previously owned by Mohamed al-Fayed but is now owned by the Qatari royal family.
Messi was joined in London by his partner Antonella Rocuzzo, who is great friends with Fabregas' partner Daniella Semaan. The quartet were spotted at the Colony Club on Sunday night.
Messi's decision to join Fabregas has seen the rumours of the Argentina superstar leaving the Nou Camp resurface. In January it seemed as if there was a chance Messi may leave the club, as he was unhappy with manager Luis Enrique and his hounding by the Spanish tax authorities.
However, since the turn of the year Messi has been spectacular, scoring 18 goals as Barcelona have gone unbeaten in 20, winning 18 of those.
