The 22-year-old arrived from Sunderland in the summer of 2011 with a £16m price tag and has been lumped in with other signings of the former manager Kenny Dalglish for failing to provide value for money.
However, Henderson is adamant that is not the case. "From the outside it probably looks like that because of how much I played last year and this season I haven't started a Premier League game," he said.
"But I am coming into training every day, working hard and learning all the things I need to learn and I will continue to learn the game as the manager keeps telling me."
Henderson is in contention to play against Anzhi Makhachkala in Moscow in the Europa League tonight as Brendan Rodgers rotates his squad. Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Joe Allen, Nuri Sahin, Daniel Agger, Jose Reina, Glen Johnson, Raheem Sterling and Jose Enrique have not travelled. Youngsters Stephen Sama, Adam Morgan and Conor Coady have been called into the squad.
