Your support makes all the difference.Bayern Munich coach Jurgen Klinsmann has set his sights on top spot in the Bundesliga following Sunday's 2-1 victory over title rivals Schalke.
The resurgent champions moved to within just one point of leaders Bayern Leverkusen after first-half goals from Luca Toni and Franck Ribery secured the points at Arena AufSchalke.
"We're very satisfied with the fact that we are driving home with all three points," said Klinsmann. "Schalke really piled on the pressure in the first half and I had to shuffle things around as a result. After that we were much more compact and that gave us more of a sense of security.
"We want to get on the field again in order to take over top spot as quickly as possible. If the points keep coming it's only a matter of time until that happens."
Meanwhile, Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs claims under-pressure coach Thomas Schaaf remains the right man for the job.
Schaaf's future has been brought into question following an inconsistent start to the season.
Sunday's goalless draw with Bochum left Werder languishing in mid-table, but Allofs has given his support to Schaaf.
"I'm still absolutely convinced that Thomas Schaaf is still the right man for this team," he said. "It's undeniable that we're going through a rough patch right now during which we haven't been as concentrated on our assignments as in the past. "I said it before and I'll say it again: We have more than enough quality in this squad to reach our objectives, that much I am sure of."
At Bayer Leverkusen, sporting director Rudi Voller accused his players of naivety after throwing away a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Karlsruhe.
Bayer replaced beaten Hoffenheim at the top of the Bundesliga table, but the loss of two points left Voller in critical mood.
Patrick Helmes, Stefan Kiessling and Michal Kadlec had fired the visitors into a 3-0 lead midway through the first half at the Wildparkstadion.
"We were too naive," fumed Voller. "We wanted to show off to our opponents and helped bring them back into the game."
