Bayern Munich have extended the contracts of Franck Ribery and Daniel van Buyten until 2017 and 2014 respectively, the European champions announced today.

Ribery, who moved to Bayern from Marseille in 2007, has penned a two-year extension to his deal which was due to expire in 2015 and could now complete a decade of service with the club.

"We are delighted to keep two cornerstones of our team with us," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of Bayern who this season landed a Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal treble.

"Franck and Daniel performed outstandingly during the season just ended.

"We could always rely on them and, particularly in decisive games, they frequently made the difference."

Ribery has become a firm fans' favourite in Munich and reached some of his best form during their treble-winning season.

"I am very happy to be staying here in Munich," said the Frenchman.

"I had promised it to the fans and now I've signed the contract.

"For my family and for me, Bayern and Munich have become a second home.

"I'm sure this team will win and defend one or two more titles in the years to come."

Former Manchester City defender Van Buyten arrived in Bavaria in 2006 from Bundesliga rivals Hamburg.

The 35-year-old has been on a one-year rolling contract and is delighted to have been able to extend his stay in Bavaria by a further 12 months.

"We all know what we've got here with Bayern," he said.

"There is no other club currently better or more solid and, above all sportingly successful.

"I'm delighted to be able to help in defending as many titles as possible next season."
