From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Brendan Rodgers has made two changes to the team that drew 2-2 with Everton in the Merseyside derby at the weekend.

Surprisingly, the Liverpool manager has elected to drop £23m Adam Lallana, with Philippe Coutinho coming into the side, while 20-year-old Lazar Markovic keeps his place.

Lallana, who has suffered a bit of injury trouble since moving to Anfield, is yet to replicate his Southampton form and is still searching for his first Liverpool goal.

The other change sees experienced left-back Jose Enrique replace Alberto Moreno, who too has had a difficult start to his Liverpool career.

For Basel, Paolo Sousa has made three changes after watching his top of the table team draw 1-1 with Thun.

Fabian Frei, Ahmed Hamoudi and 17-year-old forward Breel Embolo will start at St Jakob-Park.
