Cristiano Ronaldo came to Real Madrid's rescue against Juventus, finding the back of the net to make it 1-1 just as the reigning champions were rocking in Turin.

But as recent evidence has suggested, Ronaldo is just as pre-occupied with his own interests as those of his team - making his goal after 27 minutes all the more pleasing.

With his headed finish into Gianluigi Buffon's net, he went to the top of two lists.

It was his ninth goal of this season's competition, moving him to the top of the leading scorer table level with Luiz Adriano.

It also saw him once more become the leading scorer in the history of the competition. Ronaldo now has 76 Champions League goals, one more than Lionel Messi.

However, don't expect that record to last too long - Messi is in action tomorrow night.
