Cristiano Ronaldo gave Juventus an early lead in their Champions League quarter-final second-leg tie against Ajax.

The Portuguese talisman leapt highest at the corner to glance the ball home after 24 minutes.

There was an initial VAR scare, after an Ajax player was bundled over in the box, however, it was in fact the Dutch side’s captain Matthijs De Ligt who was the perpetrator.

Juventus’ lead wasn’t to last long though as Van de Beek equalised for the Dutch side just six minutes later.

It means the tie is poised on a knife-edge at 2-2 on aggregate with both side boasting an away goal.
