From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Manchester United bounced back to winning ways after losing to Liverpool, by defeating Crystal Palace at the weekend. Ex-Liverpool stalwart Sami Hyypia will make a return to English football, this time in the dugout as he takes sole charge of Leverkusen for the first time in the Champions League.

Leverkusen’s last Champions League match ended in a 7-1 defeat to Barcelona. Equally, United come into the game with a poor run of form in the competition having only won one of their last five.

Kick-off: Tuesday, 7:45pm

Past meetings...

B Leverkusen 1 (Berbatov) Manchester United 2 (van Nistelrooy 2) Champions League Group Stage, September 2002.

Man United 2 (Veron, van Nistelrooy) B Leverkusen 0, Champions League Group Stage, November 2002

Manchester United go into this Champions League campaign looking for their fourth title.
