The Champions League returned this week with the conclusion of four quarter-final ties – and delivered some of the best games in the history of the competition.
Liverpool booked their spot in the last four with a superb 2-1 win over Manchester City that saw them progress 5-2 on aggregate. It is the first time the Reds have reached the semi-final stage since the 2007/08 season.
On the same night Roma stunned Barcelona, pulling off a sensational second leg comeback that saw them win 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico, meaning they progressed on away goals.
A day later and Juventus almost managed a similar feat against Real Madrid. 3-0 down after the first-leg, they led 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, only for a last-minute Cristiano Ronaldo penalty to send them crashing out.
And then there’s Bayern Munich, who have somewhat flown under the radar so far. They beat Sevilla 2-1 on aggregate just a few days after wrapping up the Bundesliga title.

So with the Europa League draw in the bag, let's turn our attentions to the main event, the Champions League semi-final draw!
Here's a reminder of who makes up the four teams that will contest those matches:
- Bayern Munich
- Liverpool
- Real Madrid
- Roma
Looking at the four teams involved, it's very much Roma who appear to be the odd ones out when it comes to European prestige:
Bayern Munich: Five-time winners (1974, 1975, 1976, 2001, 2013)
Liverpool: Five-time winners (1977, 1978, 1981, 1984, 2005)
Real Madrid: 12-time winners (1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1966, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2014, 2016, 2017)
Roma: Have never won the Champions League (Best finish - runners-up in 1983/84 vs Liverpool)
A bit of good news for Liverpool fans ahead of the draw...Mo Salah has been named the Player of the Month in the Premier League for March, becoming the first player in history to win the award three times in the same season!
Here we go!
The Champions League semi-final draw is underway. We'll have a montage - of course - of the four teams remaining, before the action gets underway.
Hosting the draw is none other than Vitali Klitschko, the former heavyweight champion of the world and current Mayor of Kiev where the final takes place. Not a draw-master that you'd dispute...
BREAKING NEWS
They may be about to discover who their Champions League semi-final opponents are, but Bayern Munich have decided this very moment to announce their new manager for next season, the Croatian Niko Kovac...
Odd timing to say the least.
The Uefa deputy general secretary Giorgio Marchetti takes to the stage, which means only one thing. It's time for the draw!
First the usual housekeeping and rules, all teams can face each other with no restrictions, with the first team out of the hat set to host the second team in the first leg, and vice versa for the second leg, which will be played on 24/25 April and 1/2 May.
