Champions League: Ajax v Manchester City match preview

Manchester City are without a victory in Europe this season, and if they are to record their first tonight, they'll have to do it at the home of the Dutch champions.

Roberto Mancini's side take on Ajax, and will be without David Silva for this latest round of fixtures in the 'Group of Death'. Mancini must decide whether to start Edin Dzeko, who has scored five goals after coming off the bench this season.

This, and the return fixture against Frank De Boer's Ajax, will be seen as City's opportunity to rack up some points in their group before they travel to Borussia Dortmund and host Real Madrid.

Four-time European champions Ajax have been stuttering of late with just one win in their last six matches. That includes defeats in their opening two Champions League games, the last of which was a 4-1 drubbing in Amsterdam by a Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Real Madrid.
