Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Pep Guardiola might have won two Bundelsiga titles, with a third on the way, one DFB-Pokal, as well the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, but it seems there is no pleasing some supporters of Bayern Munich.
In what appears to be a rather childish response to their manager's decision not to renew his contract at the club and instead join Manchester City next season, a section of the Bayern Munich fans held up a banner claiming they never really liked him anyway (so there).
The banner, held up in the club's 3-1 win over Darmstadt read: "Pep war eh nie unser ding" - "Pep was never our thing anyway"
The comeback win against Darmstadt, who led 1-0 at half time, ensured Bayern have now won all 11 of their home games this season and moved them 23 points clear of third placed Hertha Berlin and 11 points clear of Borussia Dortmund in second. Still, you can't please everyone.
