Thomas Muller scored two goals as Bayern Munich dominated from start to finish to beat Arsenal 5-1 on Wednesday and close in on a place in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Bayern lost to Arsenal 2-0 in London but the five-time champion left Arsene Wenger's team no chance in the return fixture.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 10th minute, Muller doubled the lead in the 29th, Dabid Alaba made it 3-0 in the 44th. Arjen Robben scored with his first touch of the ball in the 55th, less than a minute after coming off the bench. Muller added his second in the 89th.

Olivier Giroud pulled one back for Arsenal in the 69th.

The victory gave Bayern nine points atop Group F, while Arsenal has three.
