Arsenal supporters have taken to Twitter to express their outrage that they are wearing their "cursed" third shirt tonight in their crucial Champions League tie at Olympiakos.

A Gunners' victory by any margin other than 1-0 or 2-1 is required to stave off group-stage elimination.

As it is a cup game, the Gunners are using the blue shirt as their change strip, not the yellow one.

This season alone, Arsenal have worn the strip in the 1-1 draw at Norwich (in which they suffered three separate injuries), in the 3-0 League Cup defeat against Sheffield Wednesday and their 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich.

HOW THE THIRD SHIRT HAS GONE DOWN ON TWITTER

Speaking before kick-off, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said he believed his side could be "dangerous" in the latter rounds of the Champions League - so long as they get there.

"Of course we can be dangerous if we go through because we come from far back," he said.

"Overall if you look at the numbers since the start of the Champions League group stage, we have played with 10 men in Zagreb, we scored an own goal at home to Olympiakos.

"Every single game we were a bit unlucky but if we get through we will be dangerous that is for sure.

"At the moment we have two or three super-favourites and whoever gets through tonight or tomorrow will have to chase them."
