Alex Greenwood has pulled out of the England squad for this fixture after appearing to suffer a head injury during the Finalissima win, though the defender was able to complete the full game and score during the penalty shootout. No replacement has been called up but Greenwood’s absence will necessitate a defensive change. This is the final scheduled fixture for the Lionesses before the World Cup, which means Sarina Wiegman may stick with largely a first-choice team.
Australia are expected to recall star forward Sam Kerr, who was rested for the Scotland defeat in a slightly changed Matildas side. Caitlin Foord and Alanna Kennedy remain out and Emily van Egmond and Holly McNamara have both withdrawn from Tony Gustavsson’s squad.
