Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Here, we take a look at 10 of the best deals:
Adidas X 18.1 SG – Off White/White/Core Black
WAS: £180 NOW: £125 SAVE: 31%
First up, the Adidas X 18 in Off White, where you can grab a saving of £55 on the laced-up 18.1 model. Designed to maximise speed and control, the X 18 is worn by the likes of Son Heung-Min and Gabriel Jesus – players who utilise its lightweight, performance-focused construction to devastating effect.
Nike Premier II FG – Wolf Grey/Light Crimson/Wolf Grey
WAS: £90 NOW: £60 SAVE: 33%
Nike’s Premier II has been a huge hit since its introduction last year, particularly at grassroots level, where its unique combination of comfortable K-leather and reliable performance really come to the fore. It also features a classic foldover tongue, as seen previously on legendary boots like the Air Zoom Legend II and Ronaldinho “Touch of Gold” special edition.
Adidas Copa Gloro 17 FG – White/White/Real Coral
WAS: £90 NOW: £50 SAVE: 44%
The Adidas Copa Gloro is one of the most popular boots on the market, and it’s no surprise given what you get for your money. The traditional design boasts a premium leather upper, an elasticated foldover tongue, and reliable FG traction. This is last year’s model, but it’s still a great boot. There’s not actually a huge difference between the 17 and 18 versions, so it’s a pretty shrewd move to go for the former given the sale price.
Diadora Baggio 03 Italy Leather MD PU – White Perlized/Gold/Black
WAS: £165 NOW: £100 SAVE: 39%
You have to have a certain level of ability to wear a Diadora boot. Especially one named after an on-pitch artist like Italian legend Roberto Baggio. This 03 edition features a full-grain calf leather upper with a water-repellent finish for soft, dry comfort.
Adidas Predator 18+ FG – Core Black/White/Red
WAS: £250 NOW: £150 SAVE: 40%
The next-generation Predator boasts a heritage few boots can match. Gerrard, Beckham, Zidane – so many great players have worn the Pred in the past. Now it’s Paul Pogba who leads the charge for the fearless boot, dominating midfield with his immense range of passing and making the difference in the final third with raw shot power. Pogba wears the laceless 18+ model, which is available here for just £150, an unusually low price for the top-line boot.
Adidas ACE 16+ Ultraboost Trainers – White
WAS: £170 NOW: £80 SAVE: 53%
The first generation of laceless adidas sneakers with Boost technology changed the game – and they’re still quality shoes today. Having the comfort of a slip-on Primeknit upper and the energy-returning properties of a Boost midsole in the same design is an unbeatable combination, and this all-white version is a pristine example of looks matching performance. Moreover, at £80, it’s a very affordable way into some of the best tech adidas have ever created.
PUMA evoSPEED SL S II FG – Puma Black/Puma White/Red Blast
WAS: £160 NOW: £35 SAVE: 78%
There’s not an awful lot to say here: this is PUMA’s next-generation lightweight boot, as seen on the feet of Sergio Aguero in 2016. If you’re not bothered about having the latest colourways and just want to wear one of the best speed-focused boots ever made, jump on this deal while it lasts.
Umbro Speciali 98 Pro FG – Black
WAS: £140 NOW: £100 SAVE: 29%
We have fond, fond memories of the Speciali – Michael Owen against Argentina, Alan Shearer against, well, absolutely everyone – so it’s great to see Umbro staying so true to the original in this almost one-to-one remaster. There’s the super-bendy Memory Flex sole, trademark foldover tongue, and, best of all, that ludicrously plush, handcrafted K-leather upper. Considering it only came out a few months ago, £40 off the new Speciali 98 Pro is a very nice saving indeed.
Nike Mercurial Superfly VI Elite CR7 FG – Flash Crimson/Black/Total Crimson
WAS: £255 NOW: £190 SAVE: 25%
What a boot. The seventh and final chapter in the CR7 series is also one of the best, as Nike go all out to finish on a high with some unique cosmetics. From the tiny number sevens on the toebox to the Mercurial SL-referencing carbon fibre effect on the lateral and medial Swooshes, the “Built On Dreams” Superfly is an apt way to round off the story of Cristiano’s career to date. Any special edition Ronaldo boot for under £200 is a good deal, but at £190, this is a great one.
New Balance Tekela Pro FG – Black
WAS: £180 NOW: £125 SAVE: 25%
You can’t beat a good blackout boot, especially when it’s so nicely executed as this New Balance Tekela Pro. To be fair, it’s rare to see a modern boot that suits the all-black look, so this is a good opportunity to get all the latest NB tech – like Kinetic Stitch, their grip-enhancing textured upper, for example – in a traditional colour scheme. The Tekela fits on the small side, however, so we’d recommend going a size up when you come to buy.
