Real Madrid face one final chance to get themselves back in the title fight in La Liga, as they head to FC Barcelona on Sunday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team trail by nine points and must make up ground quickly if they want to halt their biggest rivals striding to success in May - though Los Blancos’ main aim is likely to be retaining their European crown once more.

For Xavi, the absence of key midfielder Pedri makes the challenge a more difficult one, but Barcelona have had a magnificent defensive record this season and will hope to at least avoid defeat by leaning on that strength.

A win for the hosts at the Camp Nou will all but seal their first title in four years, barring a spectacular late collapse.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the game.

When is El Clasico?

Barcelona vs Real Madrid kicks off at 8pm GMT on Sunday 19 March.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be shown live on Viaplay Sports 1 and LaLiga TV. It will be streamed online on the Premier Player app and desktop website.

What has been said by the managers?

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti knows his future hinges on what the club achieves this year but says he’d like to remain in place. “It’s an evaluation that the club has to make, I’ve said many times that I would stay at this club for the rest of my life but it’s impossible,” he said. “The club will make the decision, whatever happens, and then my thinking is that I want to continue.

“What I said about the club is not so important. If the club wants me here, I will enjoy it. If they want me for three months, I will enjoy it. If they want me for three years, I will enjoy it.”

Barca boss Xavi says Pedri won’t play, but hopes the team will be offensive-minded without him.

“We are preparing the game in a certain way,” he said. “We’ll try to be more dominant than we were last time against them. We will try to be more active with it than we were at the Bernabeu.”
