Ball, who played a single game for England under Sven Goran Eriksson in 2001, has had a difficult career at Ibrox since leaving Everton in the summer of 2001. A serious knee injury ruled him out for more than a year. The player is now fit again - although Rangers' are aware that six more appearances by Ball would lead to a further payment of £500,000 to Everton.
The Scotland Under-19 international defender Steven Campbell has also been included in the squad.
The Danish winger Peter Lovenkrands also returns to the squad after missing the win at Motherwell on Sunday due to personal reasons.
The midfielder Hamed Namouchi is also included after his first appearance of the season as a substitute against Motherwell but Gavin Rae, Alex Rae and Dragan Mladenovic are all still missing.
