At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The reported five-year deal keeps Robertson at Anfield until 2026 and will take him to almost a decade at the club, having joined from Hull City in 2017.
Robertson has since played 177 times for Liverpool, scoring five goals, winning four major honours along the way including the Champions League final and the Premier League title.
Since joining the club he has also taken over as captain of Scotland, leading them in qualifying for Euro 2020.
“Obviously when the negotiations started and it looked as if my future was going to be here longer term than what it was, then I think it’s no secret that I’m happy at this club,” Robertson told the club website after signing.
“I want to stay at this club for as long as possible and to extend my stay, it’s always a happy time for me, for my family. We’re settled here, we love everything about this football club and I’m glad that the journey is continuing.”
Along with fellow full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who also renewed his contract with Liverpool this summer, Robertson is seen as a key part of Klopp’s tactics and has habitually been a guaranteed starter, playing all 38 league games last term and making 50 club appearances in all competitions.
He follows team-mates Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk in recently signing extensions with Liverpool, who have started the new season with back-to-back wins over Norwich City and Burnley - with Kostas Tsimikas playing both games at left-back as Robertson recovered from a pre-season injury.
Mohamed Salah and captain Jordan Henderson remain in talks with Liverpool over their own deals.
