The Italian club beat Benfica 1-0 and, with the aggregate score level at 2-2, progress to defend the trophy on the away-goals rule.
From the 34th minute, Parma were playing against 10 men, following the dismissal of the veteran Brazilian, Mozer, for his second bad foul, but they could not make their advantage pay until 13 minutes from the end, when Sensini scored with a diving far-post header after the goalkeeper, Neno, had misjudged a Gianfranco Zola corner.
