Last week. The shopkeeper said, "You're Dennis Wise, the Chel- sea footballer. You earn thousands of pounds a week." "That's right," I said. "That'll be pounds 30," he said.

When was the last time you took the tube? How was the service?

This year. Service was good.

What's the best foreign phrase you've picked up in the Chelsea dressing- room?

Quite a few... but none suitable for a family newspaper.

Is Monica Lewinsky a sex symbol? If not, who is?

No. All the supermodels are sexy.

What has been the best day of your footballing life so far?

No one day. All of last season and, hopefully, when we win a trophy this year.
