Bolton Wanderers v Oldham Athletic

Bolton's striker Walker is still not fit and takes place on subs' bench. Oldham give a late fitness test to defender Fleming (twisted ankle). McCarthy is cup- tied so veteran striker Ritchie makes the squad. Beckford is likely to make only his 10th start of the season. Captain Milligan and winger Holden have recovered from calf strains and play.

Manchester Utd v Charlton Athletic

Cantona is back for Manchester United after missing two games with a calf strain, but Ince may miss out with a groin strain. Charlton are likely to be without goalkeeper Salmon (bruised right hand), Vaughan is standing by. Defender Brown (twisted knee) and veteran midfielder Walsh (calf) are back in squad.

Chelsea v Wolves

Spencer (back) and Stein (sprained ankle) are doubtful for Chelsea. Shipperley could be recalled to lead attack, with midfielder Peacock pushed up front paving the way for Hoddle to return in midfield for his first outing since November. Wolves' veteran striker Regis is hoping for a recall after recovering from a thigh strain. Kelly, Whittingham and Mills also compete for places in attack. Rankine is likely to replace injured Masters in midfield.

FA CARLING PREMIERSHIP

Aston Villa v Ipswich Town

Atkinson is set to return against his former club, Ipswich, after recovering from ankle injury. Barrett faces late fitness test on ankle. Froggatt and Houghton (hamstring) are still out. Ipswich's Mason and Johnson are expected to return and Genchev is back in contention. Goalkeeper Forrest (groin) is out, Baker deputises. Linighan (hamstring) faces fitness test.

Manchester City v Wimbledon

Walsh will make his debut at home for City after completing transfer from Portsmouth. Coton is back in goal after missing the last two games with a back injury. City are still missing captain Curle (knee), Flitcroft (knee) and Griffiths (ankle). Wimbledon's Clarke has recovered from an Achilles tendon injury, while defender Elkins has recovered from illness.

Newcastle United v Swindon Town

Howey, the Newcastle defender, could be out for the rest of the season with a groin injury. Venison is available after a two-match suspension. Clark has recovered from flu, but a decision on his availability will not be made until today. Swindon's Fenwick looks certain to return to the centre of defence while Bodin returns to the left side of midfield with Ling switching across to fill the gap left by Summerbee (knee).

Norwich City v Queen's Park Rangers

Norwich will be without Butterworth, still suffering from concussion, after a clash of heads with Wimbledon's Fashanu last Saturday. Bowen and Goss are expected to come through late fitness tests. Rangers' Ferdinand (foot) remains doubtful. Holloway also faces a late check after stitches in a leg following a friendly against Millwall.

Southampton v Sheffield Wednesday

Southampton recall transfer-listed full- back Adams to take over from Charlton (flu). Manager Ball prefers Benali as part of a three-man central defence to veteran Moore. Sheffield Wednesday miss Hirst (heel injury). Also unavailable through injury are Woods, Waddle, Worthington, Pearson, Hyde and Jones.

Liverpool v Everton

This will be the final Merseyside derby played in front of standing fans on the Spion Kop - the terrace becomes an all-seater area this summer. Liverpool are likely to re-instate striker Fowler who has missed the last seven weeks because of a fractured leg. Everton have Ebbrell available after suspension. Cottee keeps place in attack with Angell and Rideout vying to partner him.

Sheffield United v Leeds United

Sheffield United will be without the suspended Whitehouse, but Norwegian international Nilsen is likely to return at left-back. New signing Blake is likely to start his first full match. Wilkinson persists with Deane in attack for Leeds. Wetherall (knee) faces intensive treatment in the hope of keeping place in central defence alongside O'Leary.
