Football: England's two-day session
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The game was called off this week because the FA feared neo-Nazi rallies as the fixture, on 20 April, coincided with Hitler's birthday.
The plan is for the players to gather on 17 April, as would have been the case had the German match gone ahead. 'I shall try to get the most out of a difficult situation,' Venables, who names his squad on Monday, said.
Germany, keen to find other opponents on 20 April, may play the United Arab Emirates instead, though they have virtually given up hope of arranging a home match. A final decision is expected on Monday.
Bruce Grobbelaar's 13-year career at Liverpool is likely to come to an end soon after the Zimbabwean international failed to agree a new contract. The 36-year-old goalkeeper has been offered only a one- year deal to remain at Anfield, instead of the two-year one he was seeking.
