Your support makes all the difference.STEVE BRUCE called for Huddersfield supporters to rally behind the club last night after his side moved into third in the First Division with victory over Ipswich Town. Goals from Jon Dyson, Chris Beech and Marcus Stewart saw the Yorkshire club recover from going behind to Matthew Holland's opener and emerge 3-1 winners.
Bruce, the Huddersfield manager, said: "It is nice to be up there but it is still early days and we will not get carried away. It is a big result for us because Ipswich will be up there at the end of the season.
"The one disappointing aspect is that there were only 12,000 fans here. The last thing we want is rows of empty seats. We want the whole town behind us. I have to be delighted with the result and we will just keep plodding away and see where that takes us."
Ipswich lost their leading scorer, David Johnson, with a recurrence of a thigh injury suffered against Manchester City on Saturday. He is doubtful for Saturday's trip to Blackburn and the news will come as a blow to the Scotland manager, Craig Brown, who would like Johnson to be available for the Euro 2000 play-off game against England on Saturday week.
Queen's Park Rangers produced a thrilling fightback from 3-0 down to secure a point at Stockport County and extend their unbeaten run to eight matches. Kevin Gallen's 89th-minute goal, the QPR substitute's second of the game, completed the recovery.
Laurent D'Jaffo, Ian Moore and Keith Briggs, with his first senior goal for the club, put Stockport three up within 56 minutes. However, the introduction of Gallen sparked the revival. He headed home Wardley's cross on 65 minutes and 60 seconds later Danny Maddix scored a second, also with a header. Gallen rifled home the equaliser from 12 yards in the last minute.
