Britain's Carl Fogarty dropped from provisional pole position to ninth on the grid after the second and final qualifying session for today's 12th round of the World Superbike Championship at Phillip Island, Australia. The Castrol Honda rider from Lancashire lies 45 points adrift of the Australian series leader, Troy Corser, who is second on the grid. The American Yamaha rider Colin Edwards clocked a new lap record of 1:34.620 to claim pole.
