ARSENAL'S John Jensen scored a rare goal as the European champions Denmark re- discovered their form last night with an impressive 3-1 home victory over Belgium. Jensen came on as substitute in the 65th minute with the score at 1-1 and six minutes later got the goal that put the Danes in charge.

Bryan Roy of Nottingham Forest maintained his run of good form by giving the Netherlands a 22nd minute lead against Norway in Olso, However, the Dutch had to settle for a point with Kjetil Rekdahl equalising early in the second half

Sweden, third in the World Cup, crashed 4-2 to Switzerland in Berne. Two goals in two minutes near the end from Ciri Sforza and Kubilay Tuerkyilmaz of the Turkish champions Galatasaray saw the Swiss home.

Russia struggled for more than an hour against San Marino before scoring three times in three minutes to secure a 4-0 win.

Russia laboured to break down the part-timers' packed defenceuntil Igor Kolyvanov doubled their lead in the 63rd minute with a 25-yard free- kick. Less than 60 seconds later the full-back Yuri Nikiforov drove in a 30-yard shot. Dmitri Radchenko headed in from close range (66) to complete the scoring. Valery Karpin headed the opening goal in the 42nd minute.

Bulgaria beat Georgia 2-0 in a Group Seven qualifier in Sofia with two second-half goals from Emil Kostadinov.

Germany, playing their last friendly before starting their European Championship campaign, were held to a goalless draw by Hungary.

Marseille could miss out on the 1998 World Cup finals because of a financial dispute over enlarging the Stade Velodrome, the home of the 1993 European club champions.

The city is due to stage one of the World Cup semi-finals, but the national and regional governments are in a stalemate over who will pay to extend the stadium's capacity.
