England coasted to a nine-wicket victory with 10 overs to spare in their opening women's one-day international in Delhi yesterday. England bowled the Indians out for just 112, and their second-wicket pair of Jan Brittin (40no) and the vice-captain Barbara Daniels (41no) saw the visitors home without any alarms.
England's attack had shared the wickets with Jo Chamberlain, Clare Taylor, Debbie Stock and the captain Karen Smithies capturing two apiece. England play the second of five one-day internationals in Gwahati on Tuesday, before the first Test in Calcutta starting next Friday.
