Despite being well placed to qualify for the World Cup finals, Saudi Arabia have fired their national team coach, Tilo Vingada. The Portuguese- born Vingada is the seventh coach to be sacked in three years. He will be replaced by a German, Otto Pfister.

Rolf Fringer's contract as the Swiss national coach will not be renewed when it runs out in June.
